For the purposes of this article, I will walk you comprehend how to figure out a keyword research at no cost. Without knowing your qualifications, I’ll assume you have minimal knowledge in keyword research yet with a small amount or no cost, you can obtain access to one of the top keyword research tools on the market.

Although there are several keyword research tools, I will presume you possess a trivial budget and I will propose a free version of one of the better tools that’s accessible today. WordTracker.com is one of the best offered on the market at the moment and offer a free trial version at: .

(I’ll walk you through the free trial version today, but like to encourage you upgrading to the paid version when you get some experience under your belt.)

be directed to the “FREE Keyword Suggestion Tool”. You want to start off by listing 10 base keywords that have obtained research results above “20 Searches”.

However, for your “base” keywords, aim to stay away from generic keywords like “business” or “cars” as they are so indefinable, you will have no chance in obtaining any top page ranking. Just be more specific upfront which will make it simpler to narrow down further once you get going.

And to help keep track of your searches I like to use Google Documents which offers a spreadsheet format to chart & list your results. This spreadsheet is of course free, but you will need to open a Gmail account. Merely go to: and open up an account.

When you open up an account, go to the top and select “Documents”. Then click on “New” and scroll down to “Spreadsheets”. You will want to type the 10 “base” keywords at the top of this spreadsheet with your findings from WordTracker.com listed below each base keyword.

Examples of some “base keywords” or “seed keywords” could be:

1) business opportunity

2) home based opportunities

3) Online marketing

After you have opened up your spreadsheet, start by typing the top cell of each column 10 base keywords that you believe are relevant to your business model.

Set off by just listing what keywords you believe appropriate to a potential customer of yours.

Now, go back over to and type in one of your base keywords and hit search (Hit me). WordTracker.com will quickly bring up a list of active keywords in the market today. The left column will rank the specific keyword based on the total number of searches for that specific keyword. While to the right of the keyword displayed the actual search count according to WordTracker.com .

Observe the base keyword or seed keyword is within all of the newly listed long tail keywords. If I searched in Google “online business”, WordTracker.com would return various keywords with the words “online business” within each long tail keyword.

Therefore, when searching “online business” WordTracker.com reports back a long tail keyword record that would include: “online home business”, online based business”, “business work online”, etc., along with plenty of others.

You will want to pick about 10 of these keywords to inventory in your spreadsheet under your base keyword “online business”. Normally, it’s a good idea to have the search result found by WorkTracker.com to have search results higher than 20 searches for each keyword you want to record on your chart.

Consequently any keyword with a search finding of less than 20 will most likely not be worth your time.

However, another special feature about WordTracker.com is that you can drill down even further in your keyword search by clicking onto one of the keywords listed (from your search)

This will then supply what we call a “long-tail keyword” which will usually provide a higher quality lead if utilized correctly in your marketing.

Leveraging this free WordTracker.com keyword tool can assign around 100 long tail keywords from just one searched for. Now, the paid version of WordTracker.com will without doubt provide more features including the ability to save your searches along with more reporting more then just the top 100 results for each base keyword.

You will also want to name each of your “base keywords” as your AdGroup (when using Google Adwords). And then list each “keyword” within each of your AdGroups when completing your campaigns.

Within each of your campaigns, you’ll want to use the base keywords as your AdGroup (when using Google Adwords) followed by using your long tail keywords as your keywords within each AdGroup.

Take a look at Part 2 of my Keyword Research Series which will help you drill down even further and thus, pin point your likely customers and strengthen your conversions. I’ll also be posting these articles on my Twitter page, and would recommend following me if you’re looking for more content.

4 Secrets of Successful Article Marketing

By Rita Williamz

Lets say you started up your own business. The only way for the business to succeed rather than fail is for you to promote it. You can do this by paying for advertisements or get the same attention for free through article marketing. To help you get started, here are the secrets.

1. First, you must come up with a catchy title to promote your business. Ever heard the line, Curiosity killed the cat, in this case no one is going to get hurt. But could you just imagine what would happen if people would like to know more about the article just by reading the title? It would also be helpful if you use keywords so people who type it will see your article. At the same time, you can mention the benefits of what reading your articles can do for them.

2. Second, make sure that your article is well organized. Instead of just writing your article paragraph by paragraph, maximize the use bullets or numbers to stress important points. This will make their reading experience a memorable one because they are able to remember it.

3. Third, your articles have to be informative and not just impress the reader. You can do so by using simple words instead of using big ones by putting this in a way that the average person can understand. You may have had an experience at the hospital where the doctor told you of your condition using some medical term that sounds serious but in English simply means you have a stomach ache.

Once you finish writing the article, read it over and see if you understand it. Better yet, give this to someone and see what they say. If there are some concerns, edit it because although you may be an expert in this matter, your readers may not and the reason why they want to read it is to learn more about what you have to offer.

Dont forget to check on your article to see if there is anything new you would like to add. This is where variety comes in as there are different ways of stressing a point when the bottom line is that you want people to visit your site.

You can get new information by joining and posting in online forums and blogs. Some even put snippets in their articles. You should add something daily and dont forget to put a link to your site.

4. Lastly, each article has an article summary. Most websites require this so in just 3 or 5 sentences, get down to it and say what your article is all about and why should they spend their time reading the entire thing. If you dont put any effort here, you may have already lost the opportunity to make it look interesting for the reader to find out more.

Promoting your site thought article marketing is very easy. You just have to follow the 4 secrets mentioned and then use this to your advantage. Again, you need to have a catchy title, make sure it is well organized and informative so people will be encouraged to visit your site.

If done properly, you will undoubtedly get more traffic which is what this form of advertising is all about.
